Fun Monday # 52 What's in my Bucket
Tiggerlane is our hostess this week she asks "Have you heard of The Bucket List?" Well, I'm always a bit behind everyone else so no I hadn't heard of it until now, however in the past week I have heard it mentioned several times and I would really like to see this film (movie).
So back to our assignment which is to make a list of things we want to do before we die. It must be at least five items - and we can make it as long as we desire. Photos are optional. And Tiggerlane wants to hear about some of the wackiest, most bizarre to-do's on our Bucket List!
I know I did a meme that covered some of this but do you think I can find it, I clearly don't label things that well! My list is not in the least wacky or bizarre! So in no particular order...... I'm going to give you clues to places I would like to visit and tell you about things I would like to do......
1) I guess this one is easily achievable~a quick hop on the eurostar maybe!
2) I picked just one animal but I would hope to see more!
3) This is the place to visit as the sun rises. A friend of mine is going for a visit this month and I've told her to take plenty of photos as it's the closest I might get!
4) I have partially achieved this ambition as you can see when I was in Canada last year. Shall we say that gave me a taste for more of this type of adventure!
5) After watching a travel programme this is somewhere I would love to visit.
6) And so is this! I think I had better stop there with holiday destinations as I could easily go on and on......
7) I was asked if I wanted to do this when I was in San Francisco as it has long been another ambition of mine. I declined because I was a bit worried about my hip and didn't want to jeopardize the rest of my stay. Does this suggest I'm not as adventurous as I imagine I am!
8) I have always had a yen to write a novel and many years ago I started to plan a story~ you never know I might have a go but after writing my blog I think I know my limitations!
9) Now something I really am going to try my hand at is painting~ I do have all the necessary equipment and I have been meaning to start since I retired~ so what's stopping me~ blogging and trying to master photoshop!! I know just excuses rather than valid reasons!
10) Over the years I have said many times that I would like to do voluntary work overseas. Do you remember all the publicity about the Romanian orphanages back in the 80's, at the time I used to make up parcels that were taken out there by a local charity. I would really have liked to go out and work with the children back then so it's still on my list!
11) I would really like to meet up with some more of my blogging buddies and who knows that might be a possibility sometime in the future!
12) I am determined to pump up my own car tyres just once!!!!! I can hear you laughing~ the only time I ever tried I somehow managed to let the air out instead of put it in and the pressure was even lower than before!!! I can check oil and water but I know Embee likes to do that little job for me!!!
13)Finally... When my girls were young I used to worry that something would happen and I would not be around to see them reach adulthood and be happily settled. Now that I've got there I would like to be around long enough to see my grandchildren grow to adulthood. This I am sure is something that would be everyone's hope for the future!
Thirteen~ is it wise to stop there!! Yes~ I think I've prattled on for quite long enough!! See you all later but it might take me a couple of days to get around everyone.

Ohh you didn't go horse riding then? I hope you will visit Australia someday and we can meet.
Fantastic list. You should go to Connemarra and ride a pony on the beach there. :)
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh yes, the Taj Majal!!! Wow.
My Fun Monday is posted. I had a good time this week, voicing my opinions on Fun Monday.
Happy week to you.
man, you've been to san francisco, but not paris?? get thee to the chunnel, dear. even just for a weekend.
and i love the desire to pump up your own tires.
I love your list!
Wanderlust I'm thinking! ;) I no longer pump up my own car tyres, my arms won't let me. I have in the past changed the oil, the oil filter and the spark plugs! Alas not any more. I hate being helpless!
How come dad does the tyres for you, he never did them for me!!!!
Actually I was quite proud of the fact that I knew car maintenance which was thanks to dad.
we went horseback riding at this place during our honeymoon and it was such a disappointment, the horses were bored out of their minds, just followed each other along in one little track and had no motivation or spirit at all.. the people there got pissed at me because i refused to whip a horse that was already walking clearly as fast as it should already go.. i wonder if the beach ones are any different?
Happy Monday! We had a great time last night watching Super bowl!!
Oh, Elephant and Taj makes me nostalgic. Hope you do visit "Golden Triangle" (Delhi, Agra and Jaipur) one day Chris, must not miss!:))
A good list Chris, you should be able to fit most of that into a couple of years... finances permitting.
t! Let's go see the Taj Mahal together okay?!
Great list,Chris!
what a great list!!
and the tire pumping, that's what men were invented for (and it is hard work, i've done it when my old car's tire had a SLOW leak)....
Nice list. The Taj Majal would be a site to see.
OK Chris, I challenge you to break out your painting stuff and do something with it...Today!
See, I'm giving you a head start on your list and something to blog about tomorrow. I'm thoughtful that way!
Barbara I was quite worried I might not be able to walk afterwards and that would have been a disaster. Though I haven't given up on the dream yet!
ann that's kind of you to say 'pony' I think a strapping great horse would be needed to take my weight !!!
hootin'anni I will be over to see what you have to say!
laurie I was supposed to go to Paris last Sept but it didn't happen~you probably weren't reading my blog back then.
grannymar we have a foot pump~ no maybe we have a pump that plugs into the lighter socket! I believe in equality but not where cars are concerned~ I have other strengths!!
beccy he tried to teach me but somehow it never sank in! But then he can't cook, clean, iron do I need to go on!!
lil mouse that is the problem with riding stable horses. It usually needs the leader to get going and then the others follow!
asha I'm working on it!
peter that is the main stumbling block retired and have the time but not the finances! I'm hoping for a lucky premium bond~ which you probably won't have heard of!
nikki it's a date!
Robocop you might want to join us!
elena jane I think after saying this publicly~ my dear hubby will be giving me another lesson!!
susan now that's a challenge!!
Chris, I'm with Susan. Break out the paints. If it doesn't turn out well, take a photo of it and then just photoshop the heck out of it!
I love the idea of riding through the surf.
I want to go to the Serengeti with you, or maybe Paris, or Taj Mahal. Anyway, ride the horse next time, it'll be fun. :)
I really like your list. And the visuals!
Wow, I love your list and all of the amazing places to visit!
A great list! And, I think it is quite obtainable!!! When I get to England (some day) - you will get to meet me!
#4 would be SO much fun. Ummm, I think. In a screaming my lungs out I'm going to die sort of way. I'm in! :o) Great list!
Loved your photo approach to to your dream destinations. I need to see San Francisco as you need to see Paris--why do we ignore what's in our backyards?
It's a source of great satisfaction to volunteer as an adult. Takes some courage to figure out that you can step away from the day to day for a time to do it.
A great list Chris, I'd love to see number 3 too.
Terrific list. Love the pictures you added. Hope you get to do all of them....
what a great list!
I love your list. First of all, not riding because of your hip is sensible. That keeps you fit to visit the other places you want to see and to keep up with your grandchildren. I, too, want to live long enough to see and know my grandchildren. I've been to the Taj Mahal at dawn. It truly is one of the wonders of the world.
Ooooh ride a horse on a beach...I should have added that to my list as I've always wanted to do that!!
I've always dreamed of riding a horse on the beach :) I've never done it yet. You have a wonderful list there. enjoy...
I admire you wanting to pump air in your own tires. I do not even pump my own gasoline. My husband always does that for me.
WOW!! some of those I have no Idea...but it is a great list!!!
Is #5 Peru? The pics are hard to see so small. If I had done a longer list, visiting Machu Pichu would have been on it. (Learning to spell it would have been, too. That doesn't look right.)
This is a great list! I have aired up my tires a few too many times. I still have a little difficulty getting the air to go in instead of out:o)
lisa m join me on all three.
molly I have always felt a bit of a hypocrite because I always encouraged the girls but never did it myself!
faye that's an easy one for me~ I have a daughter who now lives in San Fran so I've been three times!
joy I love the thrill of it!
karmyn I'll wait patiently Hope you won't be visiting me in an old persons home hehe!
jenni you are right about it being Machu Pichu!
wakeupandsmellthe coffee can you feel the envy!
I love the pictures. Great list.
Lovely list - I always enjoy looking at pictures!
Horseback riding on the beach is great. Actually, anything on the beach is great.
I like your list. The tires cracked me up.
I picked up a paint brush for the first time a couple of years ago. I have had so much fun with it! I'm not really very good at it, but it's so relaxing. You should definitely go for it!
We had some similar items on our lists. I hope we both get to do everything we want!
That's a fabulous list!
#10 - yes I remember. I cried and cried when I watched a programme about those children. I wanted to adopt them. All. I was serious. It was impossible....:(
The trick to #12 is to get the pump squarely pressed onto the gauge;). lol. Sorry, but lol.
I love your list Chris. I had to chuckle over the air in the tires problem you have...I have the same problem...there are times when a husband really comes in handy!!
What a wonderful list!! I hope you get to do them all!!
That is a great list. I would like to do a missions trip. I didn't put that down, but perhaps in a couple years our whole family will go on one. So many things, so little money and time. I would love to meet more blogging buddies too and the places they talk about. Wonderful list, and I do so agree with 13.
Great travel spots - I think a blogger road trip, after the results of this Fun Monday, is in order! Thanks for participating!
I really love your list. The Taj is on my list, the mental one...
I too have always wanted to go horseback riding on the beach! I LOVE the ocean.
I'd love to go to all of your travel destinations. I'd like to meet a few bloggers!
This is a great list!
If I could do lists I would do a similar one, lol ! I also love to travel, paint and write !
I'll ride horses on the beach with you .... and then we can go soak our sore butts in some spa. okay?
Yours list was inspiring. Stealing some, I am.
I love your bucket list!
I've ridden on horseback on the beach before it's great in my opinion. All the others I don't know if I would do but I'd love to do them also.
Hey! The horseback riding on the beach is on my list too! I have had occasion to do it, but always chicken out. :( Love your travel list!! Terrific post!
Great list!
what a great list!!!!
Great list! You can do it all!
I would like to learn how to change a flat tire. I've got the airing them up down just fine. I could show you how? ;)
A lot of people sure want to travel...me included. I would like to visit some of the places you pictured for us. Hope you get to do all the things on your Bucket List.
I love all your pics.
You are all signed up for next week
